The Penis Parade of Greece

The Penis Festival in the town of Tyrnavo Greece

The Penis Parade is first event and the opener of the Penis Festival in Tyrnavo (a small town in Larissa, Greece). The penis parade starts on the sunday night 41 days before the Greek Orthodox Easter. The actual parade has floats, clowns, marching bands, and everything that a parade typically has. However, if you are patient. at the end of the parade you will find penises (how do you spell or pronounce that? is it penises or peni?)

The Penis Parade is not for prudes

The first Penis Parades in Tyrnavo were just a group of men that would walk through town waving cucumbers or carrots in the air while singing drunken songs. Women and children would stay home as the Penis Festival was just for men who had experienced sexual intercourse. You had to be experienced with your penis in order to take part in the days festivities. Also the parade would take place early Monday morning (the first Monday of Lent) But that is a thing of the past. Today the Penis Parade is held on the Sunday night before Lent Monday. And it has become a family event enjoyed by Men Women and even Children.
